Overview
VeruTEK Technologies, Inc. (VTKT.OB)
provides proprietary, patent-pending, green nanotechnology
solutions for cleaning up the environment. The Company's S-ISCO™
and S-ESCO™ solutions treat soil contamination "in place"
eliminating the need for costly excavation and enabling custom
remedies for individual sites. VeruTEK works with environmental
consulting firms, government agencies and large corporations such as
manufacturers, chemical companies and railroads to implement
site-specific remedies that are environmentally safe and
non-intrusive to the nearby community. The Company's mission is to
help create a sustainable environment for future generations.
Background
Throughout the development of modern
society the world has experienced 200 years of dumping of
petrochemicals, gasoline, diesel and chlorinated organics. Over
time these toxins have seeped into the ground and a!ected not only
the soil but also the water table creating hazardous conditions
that threaten the health and well being of the general population.
Traditional solutions to soil remediation don't actually fix the
problem, they shift it. Companies excavate, transport, and dump the
toxic soil elsewhere. Then it is either burned and toxins are
released into the air, or it remains at its new location
potentially seeping toxins into the soil once again.
VeruTEK eliminates the need for
excavation by treating contaminants in both soil and groundwater
"in place." This approach alters the economics of soil remediation
for large utilities, the DNAPL market and the federal government,
reducing their costs while improving the overall result of the
remediation.
Solutions
VeruTEK's S-ISCO™ and S-ESCO™ enable
designer green solutions that remedy contaminated sites from
petroleum, chlorinated solvents, pesticides, herbicides, PCBs,
dioxin, and other toxic chemicals, without the need for excavation.
VeruTEK addresses three general types of contamination: Surface
Contamination; Subsurface Soil and Groundwater Contamination; and
Soil Gas Remediation. The Company works with a variety of partners
to implement its solutions.
Technology
VeruTEK has developed breakthrough
technology that remedies contaminated soil in an entirely new way -
through a controlled dissolution and desorption process -
eliminating the need for excavation and minimizing the impact to
the surrounding community. This is the first technology that
holistically treats soil, groundwater and soil gas
contamination.

Market
The environmental remediation market is estimated at $20 Billion
annually (USEPA 2004). Government mandated corporate reserves for
remediation often exceed $100M and can exceed $1000M (SEC 2006).
The Company expects to enter the $2.0 trillion
distressed/contaminated real estate market (National Brownfield
Association 2006) in Q4 2007.
Investment Considerations
- Disruptive technology solutions for a large and growing
market
- Initial partnerships in place and more anticipated
- Strong intellectual property position both in green chemistry
based solutions and implementation equipment
- Company is positioned at the intersection of three large
trends: environmental sustainability, green chemistry and
nanotechnology
- Field trials have been successfully implemented
- Market "pull" from Superfund law and Sarbanes Oxley: large
corporations must set aside reserves to pay for remediation.
