S-ESCO™ (surfactant enhanced ex-situ chemical oxidation) process uses chemical oxidation to treat contaminated soil ex-Situ. Stock pilled soil is sprayed with VeruSOLVE surfactant and oxidant solution, and tilled through mechanical means (pug mill etc). Organic contaminants are desorbed from the soil matrix, emulsified by the VeruSOL surfactant so that it can be destroyed through oxidation.
