VeruTEK is at the forefront of developing new technologies for environmental remediation. Our Coelution Technologies® leverage both Green Chemistry and Nanotechnology to actually remove contaminants from soil and groundwater through a unique dissolution and desorption process, eliminating the need for excavation.

  • Green Chemistry and Nanotechnology
  • Green chemistry is a field that encourages both industry and academia to design chemicals and chemical processes that will be less harmful to human health and the environment and contribute to environmental sustainability.

VeruTEK’s solutions are derived from safe, green chemicals that break down pollutants into oxygen, carbon dioxide and other harmless byproducts. Additionally we have developed a type of nanotechnology that delivers our solutions through the soil to depths of 100 feet, far below where most polluted sites require clean up.

VeruTEK’s environmental technology makes it possible to clean up contaminated sites quickly and cost-effectively, meeting the goals of owners, regulators, and the community. Solving these problems advances the global challenge to provide a sustainable environment for future generations.

  • More on Coelution Technologies®
  • VeruTEK’s breakthrough Coelution Technologies® reduce the concentrations of organic contaminants such as trichloroethylene, naphthalene, benzene and polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in soil, groundwater and NAPL (non-aqueous phase liquids).  By combining surfactant and oxidant chemistries, VeruTEK has invented a controlled dissolution and desorption process (by dilute surfactant mixtures) with concomitant biological or chemical destruction processes.  This eliminates the need for costly removal of vast quantities of contaminated soil, and enables VeruTEK to design treatments in place with designer surfactant/oxidant combinations that are environmental safe, safe to the community and non-intrusive to the nearby community.

Coelution Technologies® such as surfactant-enhanced in situ chemical oxidation (S-ISCO®) provide treatment that enables the rapid removal of contaminants from soils and groundwater. The S-ISCO® process uses the groundwater to move chemicals that will destroy contaminants to where they are located in the soil.  Alternatively, in soils that have low permeability, the S-ISCO® process can be deployed using emplaced fracturing methodologies or direct-push injection. It requires no heavy equipment, no destruction of buildings, little odor control, and very little community impact (unless the community wants to be involved).  As such, S-ISCO® is a significant environmental technology breakthrough.
