VeruJET Fluids

VeruJET fluids are specifically designed to enhance multi-lateral jetting operations and extend the reach and penetration of lateral stimulation through an unconventional mechanism of actions.  When time-released VeruJET fluids are jetted into the formation an in-situ, sustained activation occurs to:
  • Propagate fluids further into the formation for extended reach stimulation;
  • Open up new and existing fractures;
  • Prevent clay swelling; and
  • Increase secondary porosity.
Unlike problems experienced with traditional radial jetting  procedures that jet using water alone or acid, VeruJET fluids:
  • Will not cause sidewall damage;
  • Are compatible in shale, sandstone, and clay sensitive formations;
  • Flush fines and cuttings to keeps laterals clean and flowing; and have
  • Low environmental impact.

SEMJET™ provides Extended Reach Stimulation

Lateral wall damage and pore clogging are now recognized as the primary issues, historically related to limiting the sustained oil production performance of jetting operations; issues which can now be alleviated by jetting with the VeruJET range of fluids.
For wells jetted with traditional treatments that are underperforming, VeruTEK fluids should be pump displaced back into the laterals where activation will break down sidewall damage, while extending the stimulation process further into the formation and flush the laterals clean of clogging debris and blockages.  This allows many of the previously disappointing investments for laterals or gas stem frac procedures to be converted into ‘Extended Reach Stimulation’ and open conduits for increased flow to the wellbore.

VeruTEK Synergies with Multi-Lateral Jetting Technology

While exploring the advantages of new technology for stimulating marginal production and reaching unconventional reserves, VeruTEK has found, and continues to look for, synergistic mechanical techniques that can give our chemical technology greater access to the formation.  As an economic alternative to horizontal wells and hydraulic fracturing, VeruTEK is now combining  VeruJET fluids with recent advances in smarter jetting tools to produce multi-tiered 100-meter laterals or  short-radials, to provide substantiated results from ‘Extended Reach Stimulation’.

Being able to quickly gain significant horizontal exposure in marginal and micro-fractured formations, especially when tied to the economics of implementing from a vertical well and on multiple levels, is an important focus for VeruTEK in identifying synergistic technologies moving forward.  For oil & gas companies, investors and marginal asset managers, this technology provides a hybrid of horizontal wellbore and extended reach stimulation techniques that will completely change their approach to the completion and re-entry practices for many types of formations.

SEMJET Use Of VeruJET Fluids

SEMJET, a leading developer of Smart-EOR™ tools for Advanced Jetting and Formation Access, evaluated a range of fluid products to identify the most optimal treatment to use with their Multi Lateral Jetting Technology. The evaluation and case histories, quickly identified VeruTEK’s VeruJet fluid as the best overall performing product given its ability to work more effectively with the SEMJET technologies. while delivering increased performance during all ‘Extended Reach Stimulation’ programs.

SEMJET Multi Lateral Jetting is unique in providing increased access to a reservoir from any existing wellbore and at a true 90º angle to the casing.   SEMJET’s field experience with VeruJET, indicates that all jetting operations can experience an increase in productivity from the use of the VeruJET chemistries optimized for jetting applications.

Dale Joseph, Senior Vice President, SEMJET International, said, “After seeing the dramatic performance improvements VeruJET fluids brought to our own jetting applications, we realized that by working together, SEMJET and VeruTEK created a compelling value proposition for the marketplace. While we would like producers to consider SEMJET Multi-Lateral Jetting services, we realize many have existing jetting relationships. We are pleased to work with other jetting firms to increase the productivity of oil fields through use of SEMJET’s tools and processes, of which VeruJET fluids play an important role."

Case Study

Synergistic Application of SEMJET Multi-Lateral Jetting with VeruJET fluids in Montana, USA

Description

Five mature, 30-50 year old wells in the Williston Basin of northeastern Montana; including a well that produced just 9 bbl/oil day when it was shut down in 1995 and two wells which were first developed in 1953 experienced decreased drive and production.

Treatment

SEMJET Multi-lateral Jetting operations with VeruJET fluids for Extended Reach Stimulation.

Result

The application provided greater access to the reservoir oil than the original completions, while extending out past any near well bore damage zone.  During test measurements taken before full stabilization was achieved, one well produced 80 barrels of oil in the first 18 hours after treatment.  The same well, which had been producing just 9 bbl oil/day, has now been producing a consistent 24 bbl oil per day post treatment.
